bed research facility on the Wythenshawe hospital site. As part of

Laboratory Manager
Job description.

Starting Salary £23,000
Excellent benefits package includes 29 days annual leave, generous

The post holder is responsible for the overall management of the
laboratory processing samples from clinical trial volunteers .
The role will include review of protocols and set up of the
laboratory service for new studies, liaison with sponsor company
personnel, training and supervision of staff and day to day
organisation of the laboratory.
The successful applicant will have a minimum of 1 year laboratory
experience , have excellent organisational skills and preferably
staff management experience.
You must be able to work in accordance with a varied shift pattern
including evening and weekend work. Enhanced pay rates apply.

Clinical Project Manager

our clinical Project Management team.
The role will involve all aspects of
clinical trial set up including liaison with pharmaceutical company

Study Team.

a life science degree or equivalent qualification or experience.

Clinical Trials Assistants

require Clinical Trials Assistants to assist the clinical team in
all aspects of clinical trial conduct.
The
role includes assisting with clinical procedures such as blood
pressure and ECG recordings, pharmacy and laboratory duties, data
entry, administration and housekeeping. Competency based training
will be provided.
You
may have experience working in a healthcare related field however
applicants with a keen interest to work within this field will be
considered.
You must be able

Research Technician

The MEU performs clinical trials of
novel drugs in asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
These studies involve biomarkers from airway samples, either taken
non-invasively (e.g. sputum, breath condensate) or invasively (bronchoscopy.
We are also interested in blood biomarkers.
The post-holder will assist in the
development, validation and performance of these assays. A major
part of this job is liaison with study teams to ensure technical
support on study days.
The
post holder must have excellent
organisational,
communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work to deadlines
and work well in a team environment. Previous laboratory experience
is preferable, but is not essential as full training will be
provided. Applicants must have a Bachelors degree or equivalent in a
life science or related discipline.

Night Locum
Research Nurse.

As part of our expansion we are currently looking
for locum night nurses to join our team.
Regular night shifts available.
The role involves supervision of
clinical trial volunteers and performing of relevant
procedures e.g. blood sampling and spirometry for which full training
will be given. 2 years post registration experience required,
knowledge of respiratory medicines advantageous.

Locum Research Nurses.
Job description.
Person specification.
We are looking for locum research nurses to complement
our team of
full time research nurses. This offers an opportunity to gain
insight into the role of a research nurse working in clinical
trials. There is also the chance to gain skills such as venepuncture,
blood sampling from cannulae, centrifuging and pipetting of blood
samples, spirometry testing, ECG recording etc.
Full
training will be given in any procedures not already experienced in.
Hours of work available depends on the needs of the trials but can
be early shifts, late shifts weekends and nights. We are in
particular need of night staff for a forthcoming trial.
The
night duties often are fairly quiet with a maximum of 6 volunteers
resident requiring occasional measurements such as ECG/BP/spirometry.
Other duties are done at night such as preparation of study
materials for future study days.
